Toxins and Acne
"Are Toxins Your Skin's Number One Enemies?"
What is the root cause of acne? That seems to be the million dollar question.
There are many who profess to have a cure for acne and it is probably true that there are a variety of things that generate skin problems. The trick is to find the cause of your acne.
How about this one... "Acne occurs when your body contains more toxics than your kidneys and bowels can remove."
First of all, it's true that your kidneys and bowels are the two primary channels of elimination through which your body expel toxics and waste products, but what about the toxics?
Some say toxins can be the accumulation of fat stored chemicals the liver can not wash out. They go on to say that there may be a problem with fat digestion, fat accumulation, food allergy, or even the accumulation of hormones that your body produces.
Toxic Build Up
They claim that when these toxics build up, your kidneys and bowels can get overloaded and fail to function properly. When that happens some of the load will be dumped onto your liver. One of your liver's main roles is to metabolize fat into usable energy for your body.
This means your liver will be doing some of your kidney's work. So now, your liver gets overloaded and it too will not work at full capacity.
So, what happens when your bowels, kidneys, and liver gets overloaded?
Well, those that profess this theory say your body will expel toxins through your lungs and skin (your secondary channels of elimination). And this is when acne occurs. This is when your skin starts to breakout.
That is how they come to the conclusion that acne is a sign that your bowels and kidneys are overloaded with toxins, waste products, or hormones.
Liver Weaking
The believers further state that this is a sign that your liver is growing weaker in its detoxification abilities and that it will continue to grow weaker if you do not do what it takes to get rid of the toxics in your body.
If this seems logical to you then you must agree that acne is not your only problem. Your liver, kidneys, and bowels are getting weaker every time you breakout.
Now you've heard the story, what do you think? If you've had no luck getting your acne under control this idea might be worth a try. Your next step is to begin a detox program.
Detoxify
Try the following to detoxify your body...
1. Eat plenty of fiber, including brown rice and organically-grown fresh fruits and vegetables. Beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, spirulina, chlorella, and seaweed are excellent detoxifying foods.
2. Cleanse and protect the liver by taking herbs such as dandelion root, burdock and milk thistle, and drinking green tea.
3. Take vitamin C, which helps the body produce glutathione, a liver compound that drives away toxins.
4. Drink at least 2 quarts of water daily.
5. Breathe deeply to allow oxygen to circulate more completely through your system.
6. Transform stress by emphasizing positive emotions.
7. Practice hydrotherapy by taking a very hot shower for five minutes, allowing the water to run on your back. Follow with cold water for 30 seconds. Do this three times, and then get into bed for 30 minutes.
8. Sweat in a sauna so your body can eliminate wastes through perspiration.
9. Dry-brush your skin or try detoxifying patches or detox foot spas / foot baths to remove toxins through your pores. Special brushes are available at natural products stores.
10. Exercise - Yoga or jump-roping are good. One hour every day.
If all that does nothing for your acne it is sure to have a wonderful affect on the rest of your body!
